Mothers Day

All Grandma Clark wanted for Mother's day was to have her family that lives here to come to church with her and to have a lunch after. So The Barretts, The Prices, Tiffanie and her girls, The Clarks and Grandma and Grandpa went to Grandma's Sacrament Meeting and then came back to lunch at my house. Here is some video of the shindig.

Primary Talk

This was Jimmy's talk he gave in Primary a couple of months ago. We did again for Grandma and Grandpa Clark for a Family Home evening. When he gave the talk in Primary I have never seen our Primary sit so still and listen to a talk. He practically yelled every word and enunciated so much that they were repeating the words back to him. What a ham.

Frontrunner

Salt Lake City now has a Commuter Rail from Salt Lake all the way to Ogden. They were doing free rides on it, so Mom and Cindy and Jimmy and I decided to ride. We went south from Layton to Salt Lake. On the way down there was standing room only and we couldn't see out of the windows. Jimmy of course tried to be cranky about standing so he ended up sitting on my foot which didn't help me to balance as the train rolled along. It stopped in Farmington, Woods Cross and then Salt Lake. We just stayed on the Train because it switched to northbound. Kind of like a push me pull you. We were able to sit down, most of the people got off to do lunch in Salt Lake. We were able to see out of the windows and it was fun to see the scenery go by. We even saw Grandma and Grandpa Clark's old house in Woods Cross. We were thinking of riding up to Ogden and then back, but Jimmy had to go to the bathroom and I was scared of the bathrooms on the train, plus there was a line, so we exited at Layton. It was fun and now we can say we rode Frontrunner. Ready to Go
Jimmy was worried because I dropped them off and then went to find a parking spot and he didn't think I would make it in time. Never fear, we waited about 10 minutes.

Don't we look thrilled?

Shiny new train tracks.

Layton's station.

We finally get to sit down. Goodbye Frontrunner.

A New Dishwasher, A Haircut and a Tractor Ride?

Here is our lovely new dishwasher. Our Home Owners insurance paid for the part that was broken on our old one and we put it towards the purchase of a new one. It is a Maytag and so far we like it.

On Monday I felt like a change , so I went and got my hair chopped off. Mom told me I needed to try a "Bob", but I wasn't to sure, because I really hate Posh Spice's "Bob". I like mine though.

Our neighbors in the next cul-de-sac over bought a huge basketball hoop that I guess is NBA standard are extending their concrete slab to accommodate the new hoop and they called our neighbor who has a tractor and of course Jimmy ended up on the tractor. He was grinning from ear to ear.

I hope this dropshot works. I've never done one before

So enough of the doings of the Barretts. We have had a crazy couple of weeks.

Just what you don't want to happen in your new house.

Yes!!! Our dishwasher broke. We are very lucky we had an excellent Real Estate Agent who made sure the people we bought the house from paid for a Home Warranty. The dishwasher is covered, but we are going to have to battle them, because being a typical insurance agency they are claiming we haven't been in the house long enough. Our policy says the warranty takes effect on the day we move in. We also used the dishwasher about 5 times. Its Motor started running hot, so it broke down. It is so old that the repairman said it would probably be best if we just replace it. The Home Warranty people were susposed to call me yestereday and to give them the benefit of the doubt I have waited all day today and they still haven't called, so I will have to call them tommorow and raise a rumpus. Jimmy had great fun sucking the water out with the wet/dry vac and Grandpa Barrett's help.

An Easter Game of Checkers

This is Jimmy and Grandpa Clark's strange game of checkers.
Sometimes Grandpa played alone.

Jimmy liked Kinging the checkers the most. He didn't care if it was his checkers or Grandpa's checkers.

They had a good time and I think Grandpa won, but I'm not sure. He was helping Jimmy out a lot. I hope Jimmy always remembers this.

The House

Here is our House. I never thought I would live in a Pink House.

The Kitchen. We haven't used our Kitchen table for 10 years. It has sat in our Bedroom with boxes on top of it.
The Spare Room.

Jimmy's Room. Don't the curtains look nice draped over a box.

The Family Room. More Family Room. Its nice to send Jimmy down here and have a few moments of peace.
Our bedroom. For someone who is not a Pink person, I sure have a lot of Pink Stuff.
This is our covered Back Patio. Jimmy has a huge yard to Play in and there are lots of shade trees.

This is looking into the Entryway.
This room has been dubbed the Celestial room, because of the White Couch that we recieved from our former landlady (Sandy) that she said was dirty, but we couldn't see anything wrong with it. (She is also a cleaning machine and vacuums her house every day. We would know.) Jimmy calls it the Wedding Couch, because it reminds him of the Rexburg Temple whose open house we walked through. This was our first meal (Pizza) in the house. Grandma Clark came over to fold my towels and sheets. Nobody folds sheets like Grandma Clark. She can make fitted sheets fold flat. Anyway, we are glad to be here. It is in the same ward. We bought Our House from the People we bought Kurt and Kristin's old house, since they had to build a "Nursing Home" to take care of Grandma and Grandpa and Kurt's Mom Cheryl. We live even closer to Eric's parents which is fine with Jimmy.
